1. How long is the Food Handler Certification Course?
Ans: It takes 6 hours of lessons followed by an exam.

2. How can I get a food handler certificate in Ontario?
Ans: Once a person completes the course and pass the exam , he/she will receive certificate. Pass marks is at least 70%.

3.When can I receive my food handler certificate ?
Ans: Certificate will be issued on the following day once you successfully pass the exam achieving grade of 70%.

4.How long does certificate valid?
Ans: 5 years (After 5 years of expiry, the individual must retake a Food Handler course and examination to receive a valid certificate in Ontario.)

5.Why do I take food handler certificate?
Ans: Food handler certificates is necessary to any one who is interested to work in the place where food is prepared, processed,served, packaged or stored. He/She needs to understand and follow the health and food safety guidelines. Food handler certificates are required by law at all food premises to ensure the safe handling and preparation of foods by employees at restaurants, cafeteria, nursing home, convenience stores, hot dog vendors and child care facilities.

6.How can I renew the certificate?
Ans: If you are renewing the certificate, you can take exam directly without self study. This will take around 1 hour.

8. What are the language skills required for this training?

Ans: Candidates must have English skills in listening, speaking.

9. Do you accommodate special needs such as disabilities?
